The US and Lebanon say the ceasefire agreement with Israel, which was set to expire on Sunday, has been extended until mid-February. Israel had kept forces in Lebanon beyond the first date, accusing the Lebanese government of failing to completely follow its share of the agreement, which entailed the evacuation of Hezbollah from the area. On Sunday, the Lebanese health ministry reported that Israeli soldiers murdered 22 people and injured 124 others when they attempted to return to their homes in the country’s south.
